Lower School Director of Special Services
JKHA seeks a talented and experienced leader to direct Learning Center instruction and to act as an advocate for all kinds of learners. Roles and responsibilities include:
Craft and support a school-wide mission in differentiated learning in and out of the classroom
Along with the rest of the administrative team, lead and guide faculty in best educational practices and student-driven learning
Partner with guidance staff to meet the social and emotional needs of students
Supervise a team of JKHA Learning Specialists, guiding them in their inclusion and pull-out support, modifications and communication with teachers and parents
Serve as liaison between county services, JKHA and parents
Oversee the implementation of assessments and guide faculty in analyzing the results
Evaluate and manage curriculum modifications
Teach small groups as needed
Train faculty in reading strategies
Coordinate services inside and outside of school for tutoring and therapies
A higher-level degree and relevant experience required. The director should be fluent in teaching elementary aged students in English and Hebrew literacy as well as math. Competitive salary offered.
